Our Honeymoon To Bora Bora
Updated: Jan 5, 2018
Here's a little secret: Our honeymoon was one of the first things we booked when we got engaged (after settling on a venue and date of course). Bora Bora was high on our bucketlist and we couldn't think of a better time to go!
We ended up booking with Candace through Tahiti.com and boy was she a lifesaver! If you are planning your honeymoon or a trip to Tahiti then look no further. I had originally planned to book it all myself but I had stumbled across this website and not only was it less expensive but it was so much easier. We gave her our budget, the amount of days we wanted to stay, the excursions we were interested in and BAM within a day we got our itinerary with the total cost of the trip. All the travel groups use vouchers instead of money, so I am not sure how we would have gotten from A to B without Candace's guidance.
Our honeymoon was planned for 10 days which ended up being 4 days/nights in Moorea and 4 days/nights in Bora Bora with 2 nights of traveling via red eye. The first four nights we stayed on the island of Moorea at Sofitel Moorea La Ora Beach Resort in a garden bungalow. We had a huge semi-outdoor private shower and were nestled in the lush magical gardens of Moorea. This island is one of the more populated islands of Tahiti so we ended up doing all our excursions here such as; jet skiing through the lagoons, taking four wheelers through the jungle, swimming with the sharks and rays, just to name a few. We loved this island because there was so much to do!
Our next stop was the island of Bora Bora which was an airplane and boat trip away. Here we stayed at the Sofitel Bora Bora Private Island in an overwater bungalow. This resort was a slice of heaven with the much needed romantic getaway feel. It is the only hotel that is built on a wild private island in Bora Bora with only 20 overwater bungalows and 10 island bungalows. It was so intimate that we kayaked around the entire island in like 15 minutes. Some of our favorite things to do on this island was feed the fish, chase the tiny sharks, drink at the island bar and soak up the breathtaking views. We did make an effort to head into town everyday to hit up different resorts and locations; this was only a 10-15 minute boat ride to the main island and a few minute drive into town.
Every single morning we woke up at 6:00 to watch the sunrise and to start our daily adventures. We ate a lot of good food, drank expensive drinks and took lots of lots of videos to document the trip. Our honeymoon was a trip out of a fairytale and couldn't say enough amazing things about this trip. You can watch our adventures below! Warning: excessive bad dancing, tiny bikinis & a whole lotta liquid influence. If you enjoyed it...don't forget to subscribe !
