North & South Carolina Travel Diary
Updated: Jun 29, 2018
When your brother & sister-in-law tell you they are going on a last minute trip to North Carolina, you invite yourself along! Charleston has been on our bucket list so we thought it would be the perfect opportunity to cross it off. We also knew that once baby Kinsley comes along it would not be as easy to do last minute vacations like this. So next stop...the Carolinas!
We spent the first two days in Charlotte with my brother and SIL and then headed to Charleston for two days. In Charlotte we stayed at this ultra modern loft in the middle of the city with killer views. My favorite parts of Charlotte was the U.S. National Whitewater Center, seeing all the perfect neighborhoods and the nightlife of Uptown.
The second half of the trip we rented a car and drove to Charleston, we stayed at the cutest AirBnb blocks away from King Street. We only had 28 hours in Charleston but accomplished so many things; shopping on King Street, wondering through Market Street, taking pictures at Rainbow Row, strolling though The Battery, seeing the Pineapple Fountain, and our last stop was Boone Hall.
It was a quick trip but we had such a great time! Oddly one of my favorite parts of the entire trip was our drive back from Charleston to Charlotte to catch our flight home. Maps took us on the backroads, during the drive it would be pouring rain one second and clear blue skies the next!! We soaked up the endless landscape, the beautiful homes, the lush trees, the crazy weather and reminisced about the perfect trip.
